The mission of Metro Community Health Centers, Inc. is to enable access to and provide high quality, well-coordinated, primary and specialty medical, dental, behavioral, rehabilitation, and ancillary health services. Our focus is on patients who are underserved, with a special commitment to the needs of people with disabilities. We commit to doing our very best to provide culturally-competent services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.

Metro Community Health Centers offers a wide range of services in four New York City locations. Our physicians, therapists, nurses and support staff are a skilled, committed and compassionate team of healthcare professionals who provide a comfortable and caring atmosphere for all patients.

Our Internists, Family Practice Physicians, Pediatricians and Family Nurse Practitioners provide well-coordinated primary care services that are grounded in a care model that fosters the best possible physical and mental health.

Our three dental centers are conveniently located in the Bronx, Staten Island and Brooklyn. Our Dental Team has extensive experience in serving chilfren and adults with disabilities. All centers are wheelchair accessible.
Dental Services include:
• Examinations and cleanings
• X-Rays
• Fillings
• Crowns
• Simple Extractions
• Root Canals
• Dentures
• Specialty referrals
• Consultation and recommendations for maintaining healthy oral hygiene
We provide Assistive Technology Information and Resources as well as:
• Evaluation and Training for computer access (adaptive switches, specialized keyboards)
• Environmental Control Units
• Telecommunications Access
Comprehensive hearing assessment services are available in our Audiology Clinics. Services are available to children, young adults and senior citizens.
Services include:
• On-site audiological evaluations
• Hearing aid evaluations and prescriptions
We provide individuals who have speech/language impairments or are non-verbal with an alternative means of communication such as letter/picture boards and electronic devices.
Services include:
Assessment and recommendations including direct speech therapy or occupational therapy services related to the use of augmentative communication devices and assistive technology, in addition to family/caregiver training.
Designed for individuals who have deficits in swallowing due to acute or chronic illness.
Services include:
• Assessment and recommendations which may include change of diet
• Direct speech pathology intervention and family/caregiver training.
• Mobility Equipment/Devices (power/manual wheelchairs, scooters, walkers)
• Assessment and prescription for an array of wheelchairs; designed custom seating systems, walker, canes and other mobility devices.
• Assessment and prescription for bathroom equipment (tub benches, shower chairs, commodes)
• Direct Care Equipment (hoyer lifts, transfer devices, helmets)
• Evaluate and assess for various orthotic devices (ankle/foot orthosis ,AFO, upper extremity splints)
• Braces
• Customized shoes & body jackets
• Upper extremity splints (custom or pre-fabricated)
Our highly trained professional team of physiatrists, occupational and physical therapists and speech language pathologists, concentrate their efforts on providing the best services possible, focusing on abilities rather than their disabilities. Our vendors are certified by the Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America (RESNA) a standard in the healthcare industry. Our centers are equipped to assess, prescribe, order, and maintain a variety of rehabilitative equipment and devices. Patients are offered an array of options to meet their rehabilitative needs.
